Happy New Year!

A New Year is always an exciting time for me and I like the feeling of a fresh start that it gives. 2016 will mark my sixth year as a book blogger and I hope it will be another successful year for One More Page. 2015 was a difficult year from a blogging and reading perspective for me; I came close to giving up on the blog and only towards the end of the year did I feel that I got out of the reading slump that I’d been in.

On reflection, I think I just needed a break and having slowed down a lot and taken a bit of time out at the end of last year I now feel enthusiastic about blogging again and I’m very excited about the lovely books coming up on my ‘to read’ pile. Having just come through a time where I felt that the blog and reviewing were preventing me from enjoying reading, I’m reluctant to set too many challenges/resolutions in relation to blogging and reading in 2016 but here are five things I’m hoping to achieve!

  • Read 100 books! I read 77 books last year despite the slump so I think this is realistic and I missed setting myself a reading target last year so have signed straight up this year! You can follow my progress at: https://www.goodreads.com/challenges/3890-2016-reading-challenge
  • Blog every day in January – it’s a long time since I blogged daily but I’ve got lots of exciting reviews, posts and tours lined up so fingers crossed!
  • Listen to more audiobooks – I fell in love with audiobooks last year and listening to them helped me out of the slump so expect to see more of them featured this year.
  • Redesign this blog – One More Page has had the same look since I launched it in 2010. I think it’s time for a change so look out for a redesign at some point this year
  • Use Facebook and Instagram more. I’m very good at Twitter but not a very big user of Facebook or Instagram despite having accounts on both so look out for more from me at: https://www.facebook.com/OneMorePageBlog/ and   https://www.instagram.com/onemorepageuk/

I wish you all a happy, healthy and book-filled 2016 and look forward to chatting about all things reading with you in the coming months.
